Lynchburg, Virginia A Mission of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America - Western Rite Vicariate
Holy Trinity Welcomes You!
Many modern churches experience quick numbers in the front door, but soon the same folk are walking out the back door, for lack of satisfying spiritual food and challenge. Are you satisfied with the spiritual milk you are being fed? With a dose of emotional high which quickly fades after the weekly entertainment is over?
The Orthodox Church will feed you spiritual meat, after providing the means to heal your soul which we have inherited from Jesus Christ and His Apostles, and show you what real worship looks like.
Her members have been walking in genuine discipleship under our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ since 33 AD.
They have witnessed for the Faith, often with their blood, seeking to live in communion with the Holy Trinity as members of the Body Jesus Christ established on earth at the first Pentecost.
Come and see!
Embracing the fullness of the Orthodox faith, Holy Trinity maintains a Western liturgical heritage, using the approved Divine Liturgy of St. Tikhon, an Orthodox correction of the Liturgy of the Church in England. While the Orthodox Church may be unfamiliar to many, it is the Church which has remained faithful to the Apostolic faith and practice since the day of Pentecost. It is the same faith and practice followed in England until the Great Schism, which saw Rome tragically separated from the other ancient Patriarchates of the Church. With some 250-300 million members worldwide, holy Orthodoxy is the full expression of the Church as the place for the healing of souls, through prayer of the heart, keeping the commandments of Christ and entering into the Mysteries our Lord provided to His Church. Come and experience a truly muscular Christianity which has brought healing to millions of souls as a spiritual hospital and the true path to holiness of life.
We currently meet at 715 MAIN STREET in Downtown Lynchburg. Sunday Matins (Morning Prayer) at 9:30 am. The Divine Liturgy (Holy Eucharist) at 10:00 am, followed by Adult and Children’s Classes. We welcome visitors to all of these services. We also have weekday services of Matins and Vespers (see schedule below).
We invite you to experience worship of God the Holy Trinity according to the ancient Western forms, tied not to the spirit of the age, but to the practice of the ages.
